This is the deepest metro station in India on its network. Kolkatas underwater metro train will be running 13 metres below the riverbed of the Ganges and 30 metres below the surface of the earth. The two parallel tunnels will be located on either side of the Hooghly River between Kolkata and Howrah. At Howrah metro station, faade with spider glazing work is in progress for all three canopies, which is expected to be completed by the third quarter of 2022.
